Kamila Kurczewski & Ingo Toben

Strangers and Friends

Film and Talk
Tues, 26 September August 2023
4 - 5:30 p.m.
Städtischer Seniorentreff
Ratingen-West

Guests at the Städtische Seniorentreff continue their exploration of their relationship with animals in conversation with artist Kamila Kurczewski and director Ingo Toben. Last year they spoke with Ute Hörner and Giselle vom Interspecies-Kollektiv CMUK. This year they will see the film "Strangers and Friends". It is a short film by Kamila Kurczewski and Ingo Toben, which shows a sequence of encounters each between a child or a young person with an animal. In some of these encounters we see already existing friendships between humans and animals. In some we see the approach of two strangers.

The film was made in 2014 in collaboration with Jerome, Christian, Thomas, Janine, Leonie, Miguel, Matthew, Musa, Cynthia, Filippo and Heike Hirner from the Martin Luther King School in Düsseldorf and was funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of the State of NRW as part of the programme Kultur und Schule.

A discussion will take place after the film.

The workshop is aimed at guests of the Seniorentreff.
